I'm Dr. Kaitlin Ploeger OTD OTR/L, BCP and welcome!
I have +10 years of experience working with children and families as a pediatric occupational therapist. Since 2018, my primary work setting has been in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), ante/postpartum units, and teaching pediatrics in a doctoral program. I have way too many certifications to list but am most proud to be board certified in pediatrics. What better way can there be to combine my knowledge, talents, and personal journey than to share it with all of you?
From a mom who's daughter has had several major surgeries and a progressive life illness, it's not fair to gate keep knowledge to parents. As a clinician who has worked with many moms, struggling with uncertainty and multiple loud opinions of the internet, I wanted to offer something fresh, true, and evidence based- with a touch of whimsy & intuitional empowerment.

My Story
As a neonatal specialist, I thought I had seen many things. While I was preparing for my daughter's birth, I truly thought that I was ready to care of that baby no matter what. Two things I didn't count on 1: she would soon be diagnosed with biliary atresia (a progressive liver disorder), something I had never even heard of and 2: I knew how to be a therapist but how would I become a mother? During her early surgeries, being a therapist was helpful but my ability to advocate for her as mother didn't come until later. She has now been overall healthy and stable since 2023 and I continue to be convinced that her outcomes and journey would be different if I didn't know what I know. This pushed me into academia, to help train other pediatric occupational therapists. While teaching graduate students has been rewarding, I know that my life's purpose lies in working directly with children and their families. I have been molded into Luna Wolf energy of the intuition and strength of an alpha female. Recently, I have found that there must also be a softness with the strength and have learned to heal myself with somatic and energetic modalities. I am called to share these learnings with my current patients and have had such positive reception, that I want to share it with you too.
