Why Target Movement?
During the transition into motherhood, the body undergoes physical strain related to caregiving demands such as feeding, carrying, and disrupted sleep. This accumulated tension can keep the nervous system in a state of constant alertness, making it difficult to wind down at night.
Gentle, intentional movement before bed can help release muscular tension. Slow stretching and rhythmic movement signal safety to the brain and body, helping shift from a state of heightened arousal into one more supportive of rest. Over time, pairing these movements with bedtime can create a predictable routine that prepares both the mind and body for sleep, making it easier for parents to transition into rest.
